Pam Wells'

Wearable Art

Pam Wells has been applying her artistry to wearable art since 1992. Working out of her home in Olympia, Washington, she constantly searches for unusual fabrics and embellishments.

In this series, an exclusive for Manya Vee Selects, we get to enjoy many of the skills she has learned as a fiber artist. Bored with typical fabrics, she uses a variety of methods to dye silk, with a goal of creating a visually arresting finished produce. Layering is achieved by applying metallic fabric paint on top of the dyed fabric. A final touch incorporates coordinating finishes like beads, coins and other elements of magic.
