Linda Gaughran
Silver Jewelry
After many years devoted to a career, Linda Gaughran returned to her greatest joy: creating art. Jewelry has been a focus for the past few years, and two distinctive lines have emerged: 18th century Japanese woodblock prints and a fine silver line constructed of Precious Metal Clay.
The Precious Metal Clay (PMC) pieces incorporate simple, elegant shapes with textured surfaces that glisten. PMC has microscopic particles of pure silver captured in an organic binding agent to form a clay-like product. It is malleable and can be worked and shaped with fingers or tools like actual clays. After forming your piece, it is put into a kiln where all the organic binder is burned away, leaving the pure silver to enjoy.
Linda makes each piece herself in her Seattle studio. As each piece is handmade, slight variations will occur in the textured patterns of the PMC pieces, ensuring each piece is unique.
