Pendulum Clock
A burnished aluminum border frames the patinaed center of this wall clock. The hand cut pendulum is reminiscent of a shoji screen frame. A hand held plasma cutter carves the designs into aluminum, which is then coated with other metals (typically copper, bronze and iron). Each of these metals reacts differently to the chemical patinas and dyes with which Rickard finishes the pieces, which reflect a love of geometry, movement and color.
